“Wait, don’t turn that on!”

“Ummm, why is there a giant arm reaching out of the TV trying to strangle Johnny?”

“Oh, just the usual – we were complaining about how expensive it would be to get cable installed through the graveyard, and Squee called up Doctor Muerto. The next thing you know, Squee comes back with a “free TV” spell that imbecile gave him…and now the TV’s possessed by demons!”

“So, how do we get the thing to stop throttling Johnny? He’s turning kinda purple.”

“Oh, right! Just press record on the DVR. That sucks the beasties back inside…”

“Cool! Now, are you going to get rid of this thing?”

“Well, it does get us free HBO…how about we just go in the other room and check out this week’s comics?”

The Walking Dead #93 (Image Comics/Skybound Entertainment) – Y’know, Rick – if you can’t trust Hippy Ninja Jesus, who CAN you trust? And that’s what this whole new story arc is about – can our merry band of survivors learn to trust outsiders again? Obviously, their track record with big bads like The Governor haven’t given them many opportunities to become best buds with folks…but for longtime readers, the idea of widening the worldview a bit is pretty exciting. Any way you slice it, I’m guessing the buildup to issue #100 is going to be spectacular!

Infestation 2 #1 (IDW Publishing) – Last time the IDW universe was infested with zombies, now they’re being overrun by demons of Lovecraftian proportions. These guys need some serious pest control…something along the lines of the Orkin Man as played by Bruce Campbell. But in this round, we also have some new people to root for – like a few heroes in a half shell and Danger Girl, to name a few. The story spreads into a series of focused minis from here, so don’t miss out – this is going to be a wild ride…

Whispers in the Walls GN (Humanoids Publishing) – Finally, a collection of the amazing mini-series – with the unpublished final two issues! This book is beautiful to behold, with dark imagery and storytelling that is balanced by the wide-eyed cuteness of Sarah, the hero of the story. The basics: the year is 1949, the setting is Czechoslovakia, and Sarah has been put into an ancient children’s infirmary after her parents were murdered. But what is actually wrong with her, and the other children in the tale, is the overlying mystery. And as you’ll see, it’s quite the monstrous secret to be revealed…
