I ran across Nic Burgess’ work after he posted a few pics on the ZZN Facebook Fanpage, and they were pretty cool. He was kind enough to break from his busy schedule to send me some pics to post for the site, and to let me ask a few questions.
ZZN: Nic, tell us about yourself:
Nic: I am a photo manipulation artist located in Edmonton Alberta and I prefer to create a darker style of art I guess this comes from seeing the darker side of life, ever since a child I have loved zombies and have been fascinated with the idea of the living dead. All my artwork is created with Adobe photoshop using images taken by many great photographers all over the world. Although not all my pictures are of zombies most are, I love manipulating people to look like zombies especially pretty girls or people in everyday situations.
ZZN: What do you think about the Inevitable Zombie Apocalypse?
Nic: I think if there were a zombie apocalypse, the hardest part would be trying to keep the smile off my face as I watched my art come to life.
ZZN: What does your parents think of your work?
Nic: My parents are really supportive of what I do although they are not big zombie fans themselves they still have some of my work hanging on there walls.
ZZN: How much time does it take to do the “average” picture you work on to look like a good little Zombie?
Nic: Most of my pictures take me between 4 and 15 hours I usually have multiple pictures that I am working on at any given time and will put in an hour here and an hour there till its done.
ZZN: Anything to say to aspiring Zombie industry newbies?
Nic: Remember only a head-shot kills a zombie.
