“Listen, munchkins – if this Punxsutawney Phil rodent thinks he’s the only one who can make predictions, he’s out of his tiny little mind. I introduce to you: Croatoan Squee, the Chinchilla of Doom!”

>snicker< “Okay, Doc – we’ll bite. What’s the deal?”

“It’s 2012, supposedly the end of times. We’ve called a press conference, and if Squee sees his shadow the world will go on ‘til next year. If he doesn’t, we say the world will go up in a fiery ball of doom!”

“So, what’re you getting out of this?”

“You mean, besides the joy of mass hysteria? We’re going to rig the showing so that he doesn’t see that shadow, and then we sell totems that people can buy to help avert the apocalypse. If they turn green after a week, the customer knows they’ve helped avert the end of the world!”

“So what’re you ACTUALLY selling them?”

“A hot dog wrapped in baloney. Those things will be greener than leprechaun turds by next week!”
